Loved dogs and NY Yankees
WATERBURY- Luis Oscar Munoz, 66, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday February 10th at St. Mary’s Hospital VITAS unit.
Born in Guayanille, Puerto Rico on April 13, 1957, he was the son of the late Oscar and Leonilda (Irizarry) Munoz. The family moved to Waterbury in 1975 and Luis graduated from Crosby High School.
Luis enjoyed watching country western movies and was an avid fan of the NY Yankees. He also had a love for animals especially dogs including his late dog (Rocky).
Left to carry on his loving legacy are his sisters Carmen Nelson with whom he lived, Sonia Vazquez , Madeline Munoz and Nina Munoz of Puerto Rico, and niece and great nephews that lived with him, Maritza Pellot and Charlie and William Carattini. Niece Amelia Vergeli, of Waterbury, CT, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his Jose Olivera of Ocala, Florida.
Friends and family are invited to calling hours on Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM at Bergin Funeral Home 290 E. Main St. Following his cremation there will be a Mass at All Saints/Todos Los Santos Parish on Friday, February 16th at 1 PM. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
