Southington – Luzia (Habel) Lami, 89, passed away early Sunday morning, November 8, at her daughter’s home in Southington. She was the wife of the late Qemal Lami.
Luzia was born November 21, 1930 in Troplowitz, Germany, daughter of the late Leopold and Anna (Franke) Habel. She dedicated her life to caring for her family. She will be deeply missed.
She leaves behind her children, Miriam Yusov of Wolcott, Michael Lami of New Britain, Sandy Lami-Jahr of Southington, Ibrahim Lami of Colchester, Matthew Lami of St. Augustine, FL and Alan Lami of St. Augustine, FL. She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Including her husband, Qemal, she was predeceased by her son, Alphonse Habel, and many of her siblings.
A walk through visitation will be held on Thursday, November 12, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bergin Funeral Home, 290 East Main Street, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may arrive at the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 13, for a service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery. Masks and social distancing are required.
