Mr Nicholas Virella

Brooklyn, New York - Nicholas Virella, 77, formerly of Waterbury, passed away on Friday, March 4.

Nicholas was born September 12, 1944 in Corozal, Puerto Rico, son of the late Nicholas Virella and Porcia Morales. Nicholas loved music, boxing, western movies, and was very gifted in playing his guitar. He was also known to be a jokester; he would give the shirt off his back if necessary. He loved God and gaining knowledge of the bible. He was a hardworking man with an excellent work ethic. He was a professional owner/ operator, driving long haul from which he retired after more than 40 years. He will be greatly missed by his children, family and friends.

Nicholas is survived by his son, Nicholas Virella of Brooklyn, NY; his four daughters, Barbara Virella of Brooklyn, NY, Tiffany Virella of Wethersfield, Melanie Virella of Torrington, Cynthia Virella of Waterbury, and his stepson Peter Albizu of Waterbury; his sister, Carmen Virella of PR; 13 grandchildren, Louis Ramos, Nicholas Virella IV, Brenda Ramos, Christian Vargas, Jazzmin Ramos, Alyssa Virella, Hailie Vargas, Janixa Panetto, Isaiah Virella, Marie Virella, Joallyn Virella, Noah Virella and Cataleya Cedres;, his nephew, John Virella of FL; his two former wives, Nersida Rivera of Brooklyn, NY and Aracelis Virella of Waterbury. Nicholas was predeceased by his son Matthew Virella.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 10, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. Funeral services and burial will be private.
