To my dear neighbor,
How many conversations we had over the years: consoling, concerning, rambling, and amusing! One of the last times we talked like that was when you had a tag sale on your front sidewalk Remember? It was Memorial Day weekend, and later I wrote a poem that featured you. Over the years I grew fond of all your children, especially Paula. When you moved to Torrington - and took Midnight the cat with you - I was truly saddened; I called you once to say so. I hope you are now living under the best of Heaven, all your burdens at last laid down.
