Tribute

Waterbury – Mr. Patsy Anthony Guarino, 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, January 7, at the Vitas Inpatient Hospice Unit of St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the loving husband of Paula (Nardozzi) Guarino.

Pat was born in 1943 in Waterbury, son of the late Anthony and Lucy (Fasano) Guarino. Raised in Waterbury, he had attended local schools and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Class of 1961. In 1974 Pat and his business partner, Ralph Minervino, started Multi Metal Manufacturing and worked together for the next 44 years. During that time, he was a member of the Smaller Manufacturers Association of CT and served as president from 1985-1986 to support and grow manufacturing in the state. He also had served on the City of Waterbury’s Board of Education from 1992 to 1996 and served as Vice Chairman during his tenure. In his efforts to promote manufacturing as a career choice, he worked to establish the Waterbury Adult Education Technical Center and went on to teach dual-credit courses in manufacturing through Naugatuck Valley Community College at the Waterbury Career Academy until June 2020.

In addition to his wife Paula, Pat is survived by his children; Christopher M. Guarino and his wife Cathlin of Ladera Ranch, CA; Lisa (Guarino) Campion and her husband Ned of Cheshire; and Marc W. Guarino of East Haven; ten grandchildren, Colby, William, Gabriella, Lauren, Jacqueline, Caroline, Catherine, Lucas, Benjamin and Remi; and his nieces and nephews, Sarah (Nardozzi) Bhatt, Paul Nardozzi, Joseph Brophy, Shawn Brophy and Melissa (Brophy) Levesque; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Lucille (Guarino) Brophy.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, May 1, at 11:00 A.M. at Blessed Sacrament Church 182 Robbins St. Waterbury. Burial will be private.
