Tribute

Southbury – Susan Dietz Seery, 75, formerly of Waterbury, passed away on Sunday, May 22, at her home in Heritage Village. She was the widow of David John Dietz and John “Jack” Seery.

Susan was born August 1, 1946 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Clarence and Florence (Glennon) Tucker and daughter-in-law to the late Wilfred and Louise Dietz and Margaret Seery Sechow. Raised in Waterbury, she was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy and Crosby High School. She was a stay at home Mom to her three sons for many years and then returned to work at the Pie Plate and then at Bunker Straits in Watertown. She was a volunteer at the St. Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen.

She is survived by her sons, David Dietz and his wife Karoline of Waterbury; Derek Dietz of Southington and Damon Dietz and his fiancé, Michael Marquis of Sandy Hook; her grandson, David John Dietz III of Waterbury; her sister-in-law, Diane Seery-Thibodeau; brother-in-laws, Christopher Sechow and his wife Jennifer, Stephen Sechow and his wife Debra and James Robertson; her life-long friend, Kate (McGuinness) Hartley and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister-in-laws, Denise Seery and Susan Seery Robertson.

A calling hour will be held on Thursday, May 26, from 4:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. Waterbury. A prayer service will be held at 5:00 P.M. Burial will be private.
